Church and pub often sit well together and in Saddleworth, debatable land between Yorkshire and Lancashire, the majestic neo-Gothic St Chad’s Church and the sturdy Church Inn form a magnificent duo at the head of a green and wooded steep valley looking down on the village of Uppermill.
At the Church Inn we have two dining areas, our traditional bar area welcomes any guests, also a separate dining room. Relax with a pint of our finest ale in front of the open fire before enjoying a hearty bar meal. It’s informal and friendly.
Menu available all week with something for everyone and a great selection for children
The Old Brewhouse, situated at the side of the pub had been in use as a brewery 150 years ago, it was restored in 1997 by Julian Taylor.
The first brew to be introduced was named Saddleworth More followed by an ever growing selection of traditional beers, all hand brewed in small batches with a variety of speciality malt and imported hops.
Saddleworth Brewery has also been named winner of ‘Own Brew of the Year Good Pub Guide Award’
